Our Paddling TeaM
Not only do we design and build Concrete Canoes here at UFCC, we also race them. UFCC is comprised of a 10-person competitive paddling team that race at regional and national conferences. Learn more about where we paddle and the various races.
Where We Practice
Come join us at Lake Wauburg to paddle in a concrete canoe! Check up on events for when the next Lake Day Social is to get involved.

The Races:
Sprint

Male and female sprint teams are comprised of two paddlers: an engine at the bow (front) and a driver at the stern (back) that race in a 200-meter lap against other teams.
Slalom

Male and female slalom teams, composed in the same manner as sprint teams, race around buoys in a 100-meter slalom, then sprint 100 meters back to the finish line.
Coed

A coed team is made up of two men and two women who compete in a 200-meter sprint course (400 meters at Nationals) head-to-head against other schools.

The Course:
The race course is comprised of five sprint lanes and a slalom lane, as shown on the left. Sprint teams race in heats of five, while each slalom team races in an individual time trial.
